2009 Membership Dues Statements are in the Mail

Here's a heads up! Start checking your mailbox for combined statements for ADA, MDA and local society. The MDA has started mailing statements to members. As an extra incentive, members who pay their dues in full by Dec. 19, 2008 are eligible for a special prize drawing. Or, you can take advantage of the MDA's payment plan by making four monthly dues payments on Nov. 15, Dec. 15, Jan. 15 and Feb. 15. To pay online, click on the link below to use the convenient Online Dues Payment Form, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the new Manage Your Membership section If you have questions about your dues statement, please contact Sommer Austin, dues and accounting clerk, at (800) 589-2632. Questions about membership benefits should be directed to Josh Lord (ext. 425).

MDA Stops Oakland County Denturist

An Oakland County man has been stopped from illegally practicing dentistry, following a lawsuit filed by the Michigan Dental Association. Oakland County Circuit Judge Daniel O’Brien issued a preliminary injunction Oct. 1 against Everett VanDenEeden, doing business as Smile-Rite Denture Center. Under the court order, VanDenEeden is refrained from providing any consultation, treatment, or diagnosis of any dental disease or other conditions. VanDenEeden must also stop all advertising to the general public and cancel all telephone numbers associated with advertising his services. Further, he must inform the court of any patient cases in progress so that the patient can be directed to a licensed dentist for treatment.
