The MDA is presenting a special Systemic Health Conference focusing on the connections between oral health and overall health, to be held Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Rock Financial Showplace Diamond Center in Novi.

The special registration price is a low $50 per person, made possible by sponsors including the Michigan State Medical Society, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and DenteMax. Registration is open to dentists, physicians, and dental and medical staff members.

The goal of the conference is to discuss research linking oral health with systemic health, using formal presentations, audience participation and panel discussions.

The MDA recently launched The Locus, a facebook.com group, to help connect dental students to each other and to the association by utilizing the social networking platform.

The Locus also allows students to interact with one another using Facebook. The social networking group also has a discussion board, links to the MDA’s YouTube Web site, and a bulletin board for news updates from the association.
